Roosna-Alliku Kalterbrunn
The estate is named for the von Rosens, but from 1725 the von Stackelbergs held it for nearly two centuries. Johann Schultz designed the house, finished in 1786, and the Bohemian master Jan Kalupka filled its halls with lavish stucco. A flat roof replaced the tall original in 1939, but since the 1990s the house has regained both its high roof and its glittering salons.

Good to know Kalupka’s stucco survives in the hall, the Blue Salon and the vestibule. In the 1970s a large school annex was attached to one end. The von Stackelberg burial chapel was later turned into a barbecue shelter.
