Neeruti Buxhoewden
Neeruti appears in 1412 as a holding of the Buxhoewdens, and its later lords, the Nieroths, gave it its Estonian name. The Historicist house finished in 1878 was remade in 1903–1906 in Art Nouveau, with scrolling gables and a tower 30 meters tall. That tower, unique in Estonia, still stands, though the house has sat empty and decaying for decades.
