The earliest records of Hulja date from 1518. The main house was built in several stages. The older part is a one-story stone house of 1775, Early Classical with Baroque touches, its facade centered on a triangular pediment with an oval window. In 1869 the house was extended at its right end and joined to a granary that already stood there; the addition, with its arched windows, is Historicist. In the early 1900s the manor belonged to the Dellingshausens, and the last owner before expropriation was Karl von Dellingshausen.
The house survives in its essentials, though it has lost many architectural details, especially in the 19th-century addition. For the last few decades it has stood unused.

Good to know
In 1869 a timber veranda was added in front of the old house, spoiling its Early Classical facade.
The addition joined the house to a granary that already stood beside it.
