Lasila was split off from Vohnja manor in the 1600s. In 1629 King Gustavus Adolphus gave the Vohnja, Lasila and Võle estates to Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna. In 1752 Heinrich Johann von Baer became the owner, and during the Baers’ time the world-famous naturalist Karl Ernst von Baer spent part of his childhood here. In 1830 the Ungern-Sternbergs bought the manor, and in 1912 Otto Ernst August von Renteln. The two-story Historicist main house, completed in 1862, is an exposed-brick building with several towers and turrets, mixing Gothic Revival and Neo-Renaissance features.
