In 1748 Berend Gustav von Kawer split Imavere off from his Loopre manor; the first owners were the Ihrmanns. In 1759 Otto Reinhold von Ihrmann sold it to Erich Johann von Vietinghoff, the marshal of the Saaremaa nobility. In the early 1800s it passed to Bernhard Caspar von Stackelberg, and in 1897 to Alexander Oskar von Stryk, who gave it to his son-in-law von Pistohlkors. In the late 1700s a one-story stone house rose on a high plinth, with a two-story center under a triangular pediment.
In the early years of the Republic of Estonia the house held a school, for which a second story and an extra wing were added. Today the manor complex is privately owned.
