The earliest records of Palupera date from 1582. In the 1500s and 1600s it belonged to the Dückers, the Bronskys and the Fersens, and after the Great Northern War to the Rennenkampffs, the Samsons and the Rosens. For a long time it was held by the Bruiningks, who built a timber Historicist main house in the 1860s: one story in the middle and two at the ends, which had arched windows, with a four-story central tower topped by an octagonal stage. In 1910 Ludwig von Renteln bought the manor.
