Luua Ludenhof
Luua is named after the Luden family, to whom the Bishop of Tartu granted it in the Middle Ages, and a vassal castle probably stood at its heart. In 1736 Johan Jakob Strömfelt built a small Baroque stone house whose cellar rests on the massive walls of an older building. The estate later belonged to the Oettingens, who lengthened the house and laid out a park rich in tree species.

Good to know The house was modeled on the slightly older house at Saare manor. The finest outbuilding is a Swiss-style guest house with carved trim. In the 1950s the house was raised to two stories for the forestry school.
