Manor · Jõgeva County · Kuremaa
Kuremaa Jensel
The Wrangels founded the estate in the 1500s, and over the following centuries war, bankruptcy and inheritance passed it from family to family. In 1834 Alexander von Oettingen bought it, and architect Emil Julius Strauss completed a stately Classical house above the lake. Fire gutted the building in February 1986, but it was rebuilt in its original form by the end of the next year.

Good to know After the estate went bankrupt in 1810, the Livonian Credit Society took it over. About 2.5 km away is the von Oettingen cemetery with a Neo-Gothic chapel. The house was enlarged and refurbished in 1935.
