Ingliste Haehl
Beneath Ingliste lies a medieval vassal castle whose walls were built into the Baroque manor house finished around 1760. For nearly two centuries it belonged to the von Staals, whose house was crowned by a central tower with a Baroque helmet. Two fires, in 1905 and 1984, destroyed its rich wooden interiors, but the building itself survived.

Owners von Anrep1526 von Staal1724–1919 Good to know The Estonian name comes from the von Engdes family. After expropriation the house served as a school for decades. A kilometer away, on a hill above the river, is the von Staal family cemetery with its ruined gate tower.
