Hõreda Hoerdel
In 1812 Gideon von Staal finished at Hõreda one of the finest and grandest Classicist manor houses in northern Estonia. A three-story domed block rises at its center, its hall decorated with a triumphal frieze painted in 1811, and the ends have wings with columned porticos. The building was so costly that Staal had to mortgage the estate as early as 1819. From 1842 to 1939 it belonged to the Stackelbergs.
