Hagudi was founded in 1649 and belonged to the Krusenstern family from then until 1919. The two-story Baroque stone house was built in the mid-1700s and remodeled in the Early Classical style in the 1780s. A straight avenue a mile long led to it from the Tallinn–Viljandi road, and a granary with three arches and a stable and carriage house framed the forecourt symmetrically. The explorer and navigator Adam Johann von Krusenstern (1770–1846) was born at Hagudi.
The main house fell into ruin in the 1950s; new ceilings and a roof were added in the 1980s. The private owner has partly tidied the building and boarded up its windows.
