Purila Purgel
In 1513 Pirita Convent bought Purila together with its mill and Anarise village, and it remained a convent estate until Erik XIV confiscated it in 1568. In 1739 Purila became a Russian crown manor. The present house was built in 1810 under Friedrich Gustav von Helffreich. After the expropriation the native cattle breeders’ society opened a herdsmen’s school here, which ran from 1925 to 1944.
