Ääsmäe Essemäggi
Ääsmäe was split off from Voore manor in 1663, and its first owner was Major General Fabian Berendes. Under the Toll family in the 1770s–1780s a two-story Baroque house rose, with a tall hipped roof, a façade divided by pilaster strips and a pediment with an oval window. The Baroque staircase in the hall and the stucco walls of the salon survive; from 1921 to 1988 the house was a school.

Good to know In 1574 Ääsmäe was granted to Johan Berendes, secretary to Johan III. A long avenue led to the manor. The stucco ceiling of the salon was lost in a fire in the 1950s.
