Paliveret mainiti esmakordselt 1493. aastal. 1501. aastal läänistati mõis Bernt Owerlackerile, kelle väimehe kaudu läks see Buxhoevedenitele, kes valdasid seda üle poolteise sajandi. Hiljem kuulus mõis Bergidele ja Pilar von Pilchaudele, viimati Woldemar von Hunniusele. Ühekorruseline kõrgema keskosaga kivist härrastemaja valmis 19. sajandi esimesel poolel. 1930. aastatel ehitati see lastekodu tarbeks tervenisti kahekorruseliseks.

Täna Pärast lastekodu ja eriinternaatkooli sulgemist 2012. aastal on maja riigi omanduses ja müügis.

Palivere was first recorded in 1493. In 1501 it was granted to Bernt Owerlacker, and through his son-in-law it passed to the Buxhoevedens, who held it for more than 150 years. It later belonged to the Bergs and the Pilar von Pilchaus, and finally to Woldemar von Hunnius. The one-story stone house with a taller center section was finished in the early 1800s. In the 1930s it was raised to two full stories for a children’s home.

Today Since the children’s home and special school closed in 2012, the state has owned the house and tried to sell it.
