Lehtse läänistas ordumeister Johann von Mengede 1467. aastal Hans von Lechtesele, kelle järgi sai mõis nime. Pärast Põhjasõda kuulus see Derfeldenitele ja Rosenitele, 19. sajandil Hoyningen-Huenedele. 1780. aastal pandi mõisas tööle klaasimanufaktuur. Ühekorruseline kivist peahoone ehitati ilmselt 19. sajandi alguspoolel. Sajandi lõpul ehitati see uusgooti stiilis ümber: lisandusid astmikviilud, teravkaaraknad ja viiekorruseline sakmelise rinnatisega torn.

Täna Peahoone on peaaegu täielikult hävinud; alles on osa tornist ja keldrid.

In 1467 Master of the Order Johann von Mengede granted Lehtse to Hans von Lechtes, after whom it is named. After the Great Northern War it belonged to the Derfeldens and the Rosens, and in the 1800s to the Hoyningen-Huenes. A glassworks opened on the estate in 1780. The one-story stone house was probably built in the early 1800s. Late in the century it was remodeled in Neo-Gothic style, gaining stepped gables, pointed-arch windows and a five-story tower with a crenellated parapet.

Today The house is almost entirely gone; part of the tower and the cellars remain.
