Vatla Wattel
In 1320 the Master of the Order sold Vatla village to Padise Abbey, and it later passed to the Cistercian nunnery at Lihula. Joachim Greve founded the manor in the early 1600s. The Manderstiernas held Vatla from 1733 to 1783, and from 1798 it was run together with Kiska manor. The two-story Early Classicist house was built in the 1810s and 1820s.

Good to know The ancient Vatla hillfort stands nearby. In 1686 the manor house was still unfinished: a log building with a thatched roof and no windows. Sten Göran von Manderstierna also owned the Matsalu, Lihula and Sipa manors.
