Vaeküla Wayküll

Vaeküla was founded in 1532. From the 1830s until 1919 it belonged to the Schuberts; the last owner was Friedrich von Schubert. The one-story Early Classical timber house was probably built in the early 1800s. In 1884–1885 a two-story Historicist stone wing designed by the architect Friedrich Modi was added; the masterful veranda and balcony probably date from the same time.

After expropriation a school moved into the manor and still manages the building, though most of its activity has moved to a 1950s building next door. Many Historicist farm buildings survive, including the distillery.
