Rägavere Raggafer
Rägavere was split off from Mõdriku manor in 1540, and from 1764 to 1860 it belonged to the Kaulbars family, who also built the Kaulbars Palace in Tallinn. The Early Classicist house rose in the late 1700s, though its main staircase and doors are still Baroque; after a fire in 1899 it was lengthened. In the 1970s Rägavere was one of the first restored manors in Estonia.

Good to know From 1976 to 1983 the manor was a collective farm’s cultural center. Its interiors were designed by Leila Pärtelpoeg. The water mill, chapel, smithy and cattle-yard ruins are also protected.
