Röa Röal
Röa was founded in the early 1600s on a tall hill beside the Tallinn–Tartu winter road and changed hands often. Around 1800 a single-story Early Classical house went up, and at the end of the century the Stackelbergs added a wing that made it L-shaped. A fire in the 1980s left it a ruin, but since 2004 it has slowly come back to life.

Good to know From 1696 to 1890 Röa was a state manor. The Stackelbergs kept the manor core after 1919 and left only in 1939. The wing’s roof caved in during the spring of 1999.
