Kolga Kolk
For more than 300 years Kolga belonged to the Counts Stenbock and was one of the largest estates in northern Estonia. Its classical main house with a columned portico survives, but much of the complex is still waiting to be saved. Wrestler Aleksander Aberg was born here.

Good to know In 1581 King Johan III of Sweden gave Kolga to the commander Pontus de la Gardie. Unusually, the Stenbocks held Kolga until 1940, not 1919. The first stone house came in 1642, a Baroque house in 1765–68 and the classical portico in the 1820s.
