Glehn Castle Hohenhaupt
Nikolai von Glehn built this castle of bare limestone as the heart of Mustamäe, a side estate of his Jälgimäe manor, and finished it in 1886. He laid the foundations at first by himself, and every day at noon he announced lunch with a horn call from a Wagner opera. In the park he raised a palm house, a lookout tower and giant sculptures of Kalevipoeg and a crocodile.

Good to know Nikolai von Glehn designed the castle himself and at first laid its foundations with his own hands. The park has a palm house (1900–1910), a lookout tower (1910) and sculptures of Kalevipoeg and a crocodile. Looted in 1918, the castle was restored in the 1960s–70s as a student house.
