Avanduse Awandus
Avanduse was recorded in 1494 as a Taube estate and passed to the Focks in the 1600s. Gideon von Fock’s grand house was burned in the Great Northern War. The oldest part of today’s very long main house is a two-story Baroque stone building from about 1760. In 1849 the explorer and admiral Count Friedrich Benjamin von Lütke (Fyodor Litke) bought the estate and lived here until his death. In 1899–1902 the architect Rudolf von Engelhardt joined the house to the old steward’s house, creating a single building with Neo-Renaissance touches.
