Pikaveret mainiti esimest korda 1446. aastal, kui Hans von Maydelli lesk pantis mõisa Johann Risbiterile. 17. sajandil läks mõis Bremenite ja seejärel Uexküllide kätte, kes valdasid seda üle saja aasta. 1771. aastast kuulus mõis Baranoffidele, hiljem Berens von Rautenfeldtidele ja Antropoffidele; 1889. aastal ostis selle Konstantin von Taube. Piklik ühekorruseline klassitsistlik peahoone ehitati 19. sajandi alguses.

Täna Peahoone ehitati 1939. aastal ümber koolimajaks ja on säilinud ümberehitatud kujul.

Pikavere was first recorded in 1446, when the widow of Hans von Maydell pledged the manor to Johann Risbiter. In the 1600s it passed to the Bremens and then to the Uexkülls, who held it for more than a century. From 1771 it belonged to the Baranoffs, later to the Berens von Rautenfeldts and the Antropoffs; in 1889 Konstantin von Taube bought it. The long one-story classical main house was built in the early 1800s.

Today The main house was converted into a school in 1939 and survives in its altered form.
