Ohtu mõis rajati 17. sajandi algul ja sai nime Ohtu vabatalu järgi. Rootsi ajal läänistati see Nils Jönsson Krämerile.

Ohtu was founded in the early 1600s and named after the Ohtu free farm. Under Swedish rule it was granted to Nils Jönsson Krämer. In the early 1700s the manor belonged to Rötgert Johann von Wrangell and in the 1720s to Otto Wilhelm von Harpe. In the 1760s Christoph Heinrich von Kursell acquired it and had the complex built up in style; in 1793 it passed to the Meyendorffs. The two-story Baroque house was completed in 1769: pilaster strips and a central triangular pediment enliven the facade, while the tall hipped roof and small-paned windows give it a Baroque air.

Today In the early 2000s the complex passed into private hands; the main house has been restored outside and partly inside, and it hosts culinary and cultural events.
