Johan Knopius founded the manor in the 1620s, and the place long carried his name as Knoobus. From 1838 the von Meyendorffs ruled here, and in the 1910s they began a Neoclassical house with a columned portico. It was finished only in the 1920s, after the estate had been expropriated, and the family left for good in 1939.

Today The new house is privately owned and under restoration; the old wooden house stands empty.
