Neeruti mainiti 1412 Buxhoewdenite valdusena ning eestikeelse nime andsid sellele hilisemad omanikud Nierothid. 1878 valminud historitsistlik maja ehitati 1903–1906 ümber juugendstiilis voluutviilude ja 30 meetri kõrguse torniga. Eestis ainulaadne torn seisab tänini, kuigi maja ise on aastakümneid tühjana lagunenud.

Täna Peahoone seisab tühjana ja laguneb, kuid 30-meetrine juugendtorn kõrgub endiselt Loobu jõe kohal.

Neeruti appears in 1412 as a holding of the Buxhoewdens, and its later lords, the Nieroths, gave it its Estonian name. The Historicist house finished in 1878 was remade in 1903–1906 in Art Nouveau, with scrolling gables and a tower 30 meters tall. That tower, unique in Estonia, still stands, though the house has sat empty and decaying for decades.

Today The house stands empty and crumbling, yet its 30-meter Art Nouveau tower still rises above the Loobu River.
