In the 1660s Fabian von Fersen, governor of Riga, raised a two-story stone Baroque house. Unlike so many others, Maardu came through the Great Northern War intact and passed in 1747 to the von Breverns, who held it for nearly two centuries. After years as a school and a state-farm office, it found new life as the Bank of Estonia’s representative house.

Today Owned by the Bank of Estonia since 1992, the manor is a renovated training center.
