Kuigatsit mainiti esmakordselt 1509. aastal. Mõis kuulus algul Dumpianitele ja hiljem Dückeritele. 18. sajandil omasid seda Löwensternid, kelle järgi sai see saksakeelse nime Löwenhof. Varaklassitsistlik peahoone ehitati nende ajal 1770.–1780. aastatel. Nõukogude ajal ehitati maja ümber ja selle välisilme muutus tugevasti.

Täna Pärast lastekodu sulgemist 2001. aastal seisab peahoone tühjalt ja laguneb.

Kuigatsi was first recorded in 1509. It belonged first to the Dumpians and later to the Dückers. In the 1700s it was owned by the Löwensterns, who gave it the German name Löwenhof. The Early Classicist house was built in their time, in the 1770s and 1780s. In the Soviet era it was rebuilt and its appearance changed considerably.

Today Empty since the children’s home closed in 2001, the house is falling into decay.
