Juurut mainiti esimest korda 1682. aastal Maidla karjamõisana, mille omandas koos Maidlaga Otto Reinhold Taube. Iseseisvaks sai Juuru alles 19. sajandi algul. Omanike seas olid Mengdenid, Fersenid, Kursellid, Stackelbergid ja viimaks Maydellid. Pikk ühekorruseline kivist peahoone ehitati arvatavasti 18. sajandi teisel poolel ja historitsismi ajal ehitati seda ümber. Pärast maareformi asusid majas postkontor ja arsti vastuvõtt, nõukogude ajal haigla.

Täna Maja on seisnud tühjalt alates 1980. aastatest; 2024. aastal müüs muuseum mõisa eraomanikule.

Juuru was first recorded in 1682 as an outlying farm of Maidla, which Otto Reinhold Taube acquired together with Maidla. It became an estate in its own right only in the early 1800s. Its owners included the Mengdens, the Fersens, the Kursells, the Stackelbergs and finally the Maydells. The long one-story stone house was probably built in the later 1700s and remodeled in the Historicist period. After land reform it held a post office and a doctor’s office, and in the Soviet era a hospital.

Today The house has stood empty since the 1980s; in 2024 the museum foundation sold the manor to a private owner.
