Jägala mõis pärineb keskajast, mil see kuulus Tallinna piiskopile; varaseimad teated pärinevad 1424. aastast.

Peahoone on säilinud enam-vähem 19. sajandi lõpu kujul.

Jägala dates from the Middle Ages, when it belonged to the Bishop of Tallinn; the earliest records date from 1424. In the 1600s it belonged to the De la Gardies and the Scheidings, and from 1747 until 1919 to the Breverns. Probably in the 1750s–1780s a small one-story Baroque house with a mansard roof was built, its facade enlivened by pilaster strips and a one-window raised center with a triangular pediment and an oval window. In the later 1800s lacy timber verandas were added, along with two long rear wings.

Today The manor center lies in a closed military area and, together with the later garrison town, belongs to the Defense Forces Logistics Center. The main house survives roughly in its late-19th-century form.
