The site was first recorded in 1390 as Tydenkull manor, which belonged to St. John’s almshouse in Tallinn. It later passed to the Tallinn town council (raad), which gave the estate its Estonian name. The Swedish-era reduction left it a town estate, and in 1880 it was acquired by Tallinn’s church fund. The Historicist stone house, with a high basement and one main floor, was built in the 1850s.
