Teenuse mõis eraldati iseseisvaks üksuseks 16. sajandil naabruses asuvast Tolli mõisast ja kuulus 1919. aasta võõrandamiseni Maydellidele; viimane omanik oli Richard von Maydell. 16. sajandil ehitati mõis välja kivist kindlustatud mõisahoone ehk vasallilinnusena, millele viitab ka saksakeelne nimi Stenhusen. Mõisakompleks asub looduslikult hästi kaitstud kitsal seljandikul, mida kolmest küljest piirab vesi. Ühekorruseline poolkelpkatusega hilisbarokne peahoone ehitati arvatavasti 18. sajandi lõpul; selle fassaade kaunistavad pilastrid ning keskosa ilmestab suur kolmnurkviil, mille tipus on väike ovaalaken. 1905. aastal maja põletati ja see taastati enam-vähem endisel kujul, kuid fassaadi otste ärkliehitisi enam ei taastatud.

Täna Pärast võõrandamist tegutses mõisas 1996. aastani kool. Peahoones tegutsevad Märjamaa valla Teenuse haruraamatukogu ja MTÜ Teenuse Naiste Ühendus. Säilinud on ka mõned kõrvalhooned, millest vaatamisväärseim on ait-kuivati; selle kolmest kaaravast on säilinud kaks, kolmas on lõhutud avaraks väravaks.

Teenuse became an independent estate in the 1500s, when it was split off from neighboring Tolli manor, and until expropriation in 1919 it belonged to the Maydells; the last owner was Richard von Maydell. In the 1500s the manor was built up as a fortified stone house, or vassal castle, as its German name Stenhusen also suggests. The complex sits on a narrow, naturally well-protected ridge bounded by water on three sides. The one-story Late Baroque house with a half-hipped roof was probably built in the late 1700s; its facades are decorated with pilasters, and its center is marked by a large triangular gable with a small oval window at its peak. In 1905 the house was burned, and it was rebuilt more or less as before, but without the dormer structures that had adorned the ends of the facade.

Today After expropriation the manor held a school until 1996. The house now holds the Teenuse branch library of Märjamaa Parish and the Teenuse Women’s Association. A few outbuildings also survive, the most notable being the granary and drying barn; two of its three arches survive, while the third has been broken open into a wide gateway.
