Massu Manor Massau
Massu was first recorded in 1596, when it belonged to Nicolaus Rask. It later passed to the Rosens, the Maydells, the Uexkülls and the Gernsdorffs, and from 1765 to 1840 to the Pistohlkors family. In 1840 the Bremens, owners of neighboring Voose, acquired the manor and soon built a one-story classical stone house with a flat tin roof – one of the most refined small classical manor houses in Estonia. A portico of eight grouped columns graces the center, and pediments with arched windows crown both the central projection and the two-window side projections.
Today After expropriation the house held a school until the 1970s. The main house is privately owned and, after standing empty for a long time, is in fairly poor condition.
