Angerja on üks Raplamaa vanimaid kiviehitisi: piklik, tornitaoline kahekorruseline paekivist majalinnus kahemeetriste seinte ja keldritega, mida ümbritsesid ringmüür, vallikraav ja Angerja oja. Seda mainiti esmakordselt 1424 ja 1451–1455 kuulus see Liivi ordule. 16. sajandi alguses sai maja Tallinna bürgermeistri ajal lõpliku ilme; Liivi sõjas see hävis, taastati 17. sajandil ja jäi 19. sajandi keskel varemeisse.

Täna Angerja ojakaldal seisavad kõrged müüriosad; varemed on arhitektuurimälestis alates 1998.

Angerja is one of the oldest stone buildings in Rapla County: an elongated, tower-like two-story limestone house-castle with walls two meters thick and cellars below, protected by a ring wall, a moat and the Angerja brook. It was first recorded in 1424 and belonged to the Livonian Order in 1451–1455. It took its final form in the early 1500s under a Tallinn burgomaster; destroyed in the Livonian War, it was restored in the 1600s and fell into ruin in the mid-1800s.

Today Tall sections of wall stand by the Angerja brook; the ruins have been a protected monument since 1998.
